Holiday let: access, heating and shutters from afar
Your guests get in with a code, the place is warm when they arrive, and you manage lights, shutters and alarm from your phone after they leave.
In short
- No more key handovers: one code per guest, valid for the length of the stay.
- Warmed up just before arrival, with a maximum temperature that you set.
- Manage everything from afar: lights, shutters, door and alarm, from your phone.

Day to day
Arrival day
- 2.00pmThe heating comes on a few hours before arrival: the place is at the right temperature.
- 4.00pmThe shutters open: the place is full of light when the guests arrive.
- 10.30pmThey arrive late, and you're far away: they type their code, the door opens.
- 10.00amOn departure day, their code stops working on its own and the door locks behind them.
- 10.30amFrom your phone, you switch off any lights left on, close the shutters, put the heating back into away mode and set the alarm.
- 11.00amThe cleaner lets themselves in with their own code.
The times are just an example; it all depends on your let.

What I install

Keypad
One code per guest, typed on the keypad fixed by the door.

Lights and shutters
Lights off and shutters closed from afar, after each departure; the app shows the position of each shutter.

Cleaners and contractors
A code each
The cleaner, the gardener, the boiler engineer: each has their own code, valid for as long as you decide. Changing contractor? You delete their code: nothing to get back. The Nuki account stays in your name.
- One code per person, never shared

Your questions
Your questions as an owner
Can guests turn the heating up?
With smart radiator heads:
- Maximum temperature: you set it in the app, room by room.
- Lockable smart radiator head: manual adjustment can be blocked.
- Window open: the smart radiator head detects it and switches the radiator to frost protection.
Do guests need an app to get in?
- No: the code typed on the keypad is enough.
- Wi-Fi down: the code still works on site; only your remote access is interrupted.
And if the battery is flat?
- A spare key with a relative or neighbour, or in a key safe: the door still opens with a key.
- The app warns you well in advance: a quick check at each cleaning visit is enough.
- Battery life: 4 to 6 months with Wi-Fi; recharges in about 2 hours.
What do you check before fitting?
- The door: lock, space around it, how the key turns.
- A broadband router on site, with signal reaching the door: essential to manage everything from afar. No router? We'll look at the options together.
- A property closed up for the winter: the lock works between 10 and 40 °C; I'll look at your case with you.
Does the door lock itself?
Yes, from 30 seconds to 30 minutes after opening, depending on your setting.
Are openings recorded?
- Yes: the time and the name of the code, in the app.
- Let your guests know in the listing, and tell the cleaner before giving them their code.
Do you need a subscription?
- Lock and app: none.
- Smart Hosting, for Airbnb and other platforms: a paid Nuki option.
- Alarm: no compulsory subscription; optional SIM card plan for texts and calls.
Airbnb, concierge service, several properties?
- Airbnb and other platforms: Smart Hosting, a paid Nuki option, creates codes from your bookings.
- Concierge service: access with limited rights, which you remove whenever you like.
- Several properties: one account for all of them.
